A Day in the Life...

To some of you these things might not be very exciting, but to us they are precious because they are all about what Channing is up to these days (which is what our life is about now).

*Channing has been sleeping through the night for about a month now. (And when I say sleeping through the night, I mean sleeping through the night. The books consider it sleeping through the night when a baby sleeps for 5 hours or more. To me that is a good nap, not sleeping through the night.) She usually goes to bed around 10 pm and will sleep until about 6 or 6:30 am. If she's really tired, she will sleep until 7 or 7:30 am. Her doctor would like for her to go to bed earlier, but if she did then she wouldn't get to spend any time with her daddy. We feel like this time works best for us.

*We can now tell when she is tired because she will rub her head with both of her hands. When she is really tired she will rub her eyes.

*Now that she can now roll onto her side, she likes to sleep on her side. We will lay her down in her crib on her back but she immediately rolls to her side. I don't blame her, that is how I prefer to sleep too.

*She still has not rolled onto her tummy again. I know it is a matter of time before she does it again. She will get so close but won't make it all the way over.

*Daddy time is Channing's favorite time of the day. Anytime her daddy is around, she can't help but smile. He can make her laugh the biggest laughs ever! She especially likes it when he rocks her to sleep at night. For some reason he can get her to sleep faster than anyone else.

*Another favorite time for Channing is outside time. She just absolutely loves it outside. Anytime she is fussy, all we have to do is take her outside and she is immediately happy.

*Channing has learned to growl. She doesn't talk much, but she will definitely give you big growl instead. I am not sure where she learned it but we think it may have been from her friend Ashley. Channing didn't growl until we went to dinner with our friends.

*She is still not a huge fan of her car seat. It all happened when I drove to my parents' house which is 4 - 5 hours away. Now she gets upset when we have to put her in her car seat.

*She might not be a fan of her car seat but she loves her changing table. Ever since the first time we put her up there, she has always loved her changing table. She used to stare at the wall like there was something there, but now she just laughs and watches whatever you are doing.

*Her newest discovery is her feet. Her favorite time to grab her feet is when you are trying to change her diaper. It makes it a little difficult to fasten the diaper but it does make it easier to apply the diaper rash cream because her bottom is in the air!

*Everything goes into her mouth. She has realized that if she reaches for something, she can grab it. And if she can get her hands on it, then it is going straight for her mouth. And if she doesn't have anything in her hands, then her hands go into her mouth. Luckily she hasn't grabbed anything disgusting yet.

*Her favorite thing to reach for: a coke can. Is she my daughter or what?

Oh, sure, blame Ashley for the growling, but I'll bet it was your dogs that taught her to growl. She may even think she's a dog.
