Roll Over!
Channing has started rolling from her back to her side. The proof is in the pictures below. She has even rolled all the way from her back to her tummy, but I have only seen it once and she won't do it again. Next time I will try to be quicker with the camera so I can document the occasion. (Can you see how she is trying really hard to suck her thumb? We keep trying to take it out of her mouth but it doesn't seem to be working!)

A Visit with the Grandmothers
Last weekend Janet picked us up so that we could visit Channing's great-grandmothers and great aunts. We had such a good time hanging out with Gran Jan and Papa for a few days. Here are some pictures from the trip.

My First Mother's Day
My first Mother's Day was a good one. Our church had all of the moms stand up so that they could be recognized. It felt good to be able to stand up and say that I am now a mom. I just hope that I can be as good of a mom to Channing as my mom has been to me. I know I am a little biased, but I feel like I have one of the best moms ever. She is truly one of my best friends and we have so much fun when we are together. It always makes me feel better to know that she will always be there for me and that I can come to her with anything. Not only that, but she will do almost anything for her kids and loves them with all of her heart. One of my prayers is that Channing and I can have the same friendship that I have with my mom. It made me sad that I could not spend the day with her since we do not live in the same town anymore. I love you Mom and I hope you had a wonderful Mother's Day!
Even though I wasn't able to spend Mother's Day with my mom, I did get to spend it with Colin's mom. I am so thankful that I have a great mother-in-law. From the very first day I met her, she has always made me feel like I was part of the family. Thank you Janet for always being so wonderful!
I did not realize until now that we did not take any pictures of Channing and me on Mother's Day. However, we did get a picture of Channing and her Gran Jan.

What a Catch!
Sip n See Shower
Two weeks after Easter weekend, Channing and I made another trip to my parent's for a Sip and See shower my mom was hosting for us. We had another great weekend, but I have decided that Channing officially hates her car seat now. The many long hours on the road has put her over the edge when it comes to her car seat. Oh well, she will just have to get over it!
In case you may not know, it is called a Sip and See shower because it is held after the baby is born. Since Channing was due in January, it was too hard for my mom to have a shower for us before she was born because of all the holidays. We decided it would be best to wait until after the holidays and after she was born. I liked it better this way because it allowed my mom to show off Channing to all of her friends. My mom worked hard to get her house decorated with her new furniture and it looked beautiful! She also worked hard and made some wonderful food. There was way too much and it was all delicious. Thank you mom for the wonderful shower! It was also nice to see my mom's friends again and I appreciate them all for coming. They have always been so sweet to me.

Happy Easter! (A Catch-up Blog)
The whole point of this blog is to have a way to share pictures and keep everyone in touch with what is happening in our lives. However, I have not been doing a good job of that lately so this may be a really long blog with lots of pictures.
Even though Easter was several weeks ago, Channing and I had such a wonderful time with my family that I wanted to share some pictures of the weekend. I decided we would go down there for a few days instead of just the weekend since I am no longer working full time and have the ability to travel when I want. My parents enjoyed having us stay awhile because it had been a long time since they had seen Channing.
This was my first time to take Channing on a long trip so I wasn't sure how she would do on the drive to my parents since it takes 4 1/2 hours to get there. We left early because I thought we might have to stop a few times to change diapers, eat, etc. To my suprise she slept the entire trip! Well, she actually woke up about 10 minutes away from my parent's house but I was so close and didn't want to stop. My mom was also suprised that we made it so fast! It took us longer to come home but that was because we made a stop to visit our cousin Chrissie at work and to eat a couple of times.
Every Easter my dad's family gets together to celebrate. My Oma ("grandmother" in German) and cousins hadn't met Channing yet so I was excited to show her off to them for the first time. It's been a few years since there has been a baby on that side of the family. Channing is my Oma's first great granddaughter. So far there have only been boys. I think Channing had a wonderful time even though it was really cold and rainy.

The rest of the family

We spent Easter Sunday at my parent's house with my sisters Michelle and Shawn, bro-in-law Larry, and all the kids. Every year they come over and all of the kids have an Easter egg hunt. The past couple of years we have also had a silly string fight. This year, to make it even more fun and messy, I brought confetti eggs for all the kids. Because of the mess it made in my mom's yard, she has told me that I am not allowed to bring those things anymore. It sure was a good time! Here are some pictures from the day.
